XAT is one of the popular entrance examinations in India. This year XAT was conducted on 3rd January and the examination result was published on 26th January 2016. The eligible candidates will be selected to offer admissions in numerous MBA programs at XLRI & other XAT associated management institutes. The selection procedure for XAT is divided into two stages- shortlisting the candidates and final selection.
XAT Selection Procedure
Stage I (shortlisting the candidates)- The eligible candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in XAT 2017. Some B-Schools consider the marks of Paper I and some B-Schools consider Paper I & II together.
Paper I will be objective type and consists of 3 sections- Decision making, Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Paper II will be subjective type and consists of 2 sections- General Awareness & Essay Writing. The qualified candidates of stage I will be called for stage II to attend Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
Stage II (Final Selection)- The selection process will vary from one B-School to another. Most of the B-schools consider Group Discussion & Personal Interview. Some institutes conduct Group Exercise instead of GD such as MICA. The final selection will be will be completed on the basis of various assessment factors such as XAT 2016 score card, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Essay Writing, Past Academic records, Work Experience & overall profile. The merit list will be prepared based on these assessment factors.
