Who is eligible to apply for the UP Veterinary Entrance Exam 2024?
The candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria will only be allowed to apply for the UP Veterinary Entrance Exam 2024. You can check the eligibility required for the different courses mentioned below.
Eligibility for Animal Husbandry and B.V.Sc
- The candidates must have passed 12th scoring a minimum of 50% in aggregate from a recognized Board (5% relaxation will be provided to reserved categories).
- You must have passed 12th with these subjects as main- Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
- The minimum age to apply for UP Veterinary Entrance Test is 17 years and the maximum age is 25 years.
- The candidates from the NRI quota must have cleared 12th or equivalent scoring a minimum of 50% in aggregate from a recognized Board.
- NRI quota candidates should also have these subjects as main in 12th grade- Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English. There is no requirement for the applicants to appear for the PVT 2024 examination.
Eligibility for Ph.D. and M.V.Sc
- The candidates must have qualified Animal Husbandry and B.V.Sc exam from a recognized University of The Veterinary Council of India.
- For the Master’s Program, the candidates must have scored 60% in Bachelor’s Degree (in the case of reserved categories the scores are a minimum of 55%).
- For the Ph.D. program, the candidates must have scored a minimum of 65% (in the case of reserved categories minimum marks required are 60%).
Eligibility for Diploma Course
- The candidates should have passed UP Board with these subjects- English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- You should have scored a minimum of 50% (45% in the case of reserved categories) in the UP Board.
- You must bring all the original documents at the time of counseling for verification.
Eligibility for B.Sc/ M.Sc/Ph.D (College of Biotechnology)
- For B.Sc in Biotechnology/ Industrial Microbiology, the applicants must have cleared 12th scoring a minimum 60% aggregate (55% in case of reserved categories) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as main subjects.
- For M.Sc/ M.V.Sc in Biotechnology, the applicants must have qualified degree of B.Sc (Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry) / B.Sc (Biotechnology) / B.Tech (Biotech) / B.V.Sc & AH / B.Sc (Agriculture) / B.Sc (Fisheries) scoring minimum 60% aggregate (55% in case of reserved categories).
Application process

- The candidates need to visit the official website of Deen Dayal Veterinary University and on the home page click on “Academics”.
- On clicking “Academics”, you will get different courses where you need to click the particular course you want to apply for.
- A new page will open where you have to enter the details as required in the form such as your personal details, academic details, etc.
- You also have to upload the scanned images of your photograph and signature in the specified format.
- Make sure you also pay the application fee to complete the process of the application form.
- Eventually, you can take the printout of your application form for future reference.
Application Fee
- The applicants have to pay Rs. 1800/- as the application fee.
- The registration fee can be paid through a Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.
- The application fee is non-refundable.
Examination Pattern
Every candidate appearing for the UP Veterinary Entrance Exam 2024 must go through the examination pattern before the examination. It will give you an idea about the pattern of the question paper so that you can prepare well for the exam accordingly.
B.V.Sc & AH Degree Courses- Examination Pattern
- The examination will be conducted in offline mode (Pen & Paper mode).
- The candidates will get 3 hours to complete the question paper.
- The total number of questions will be 200 (MCQ type).
- The candidates will get 4 marks for each correct answer and there will be a penalty of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
M.V.Sc Courses- Examination Pattern
- The examination will be conducted through Pen & Paper mode.
- 2 hours will be given for the entrance test.
- The total number of questions will be 200 (MCQ type).
- No marks will not be deducted for any incorrect answers.
Ph.D. Program
- The examination will be conducted in offline mode (Pen & Paper mode).
- 1 hour will be given to the candidates to complete the question paper.
- There will be total1200 questions of MCQ type.
- Any marks will not be deducted for any incorrect answers.
Diploma Courses- Examination Pattern
- The examination will be conducted through Pen & Paper mode.
- 3 hours will be provided to the applicants to complete the test.
- The question paper will have a total of 200 questions (MCQ type).
- Marks will not be deducted for any incorrect answers.
