TNOU Admission 2023: Tamil Nadu Open University offers various courses in different disciplines. The programs conducted by Tamil Nadu Open University are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Distance Education Council(DEC), National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE), and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). The University has established a number of study centers throughout Tamil Nadu to assist the students in admission to the various programs and for coordinating their learning activities. The academic activities of the university are carried out in two admission cycles viz. calendar year cycle commencing from the month of January and the Academic year cycle commencing from the month of July.

Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate Programs
- BCA (Lateral Entry – LE): Any Diploma from a recognized polytechnic college
- B.Sc in Apparel and Fashion Design: 10th + 12th (HSC) Equivalent or PUC or TNOU BPP or 10th + 3 Years Diploma or 11th +2
- B.Sc. Physics/ B.Sc.Chemistry/ B.Sc.Botany/ B.Sc.Zoology: 12th Pass or Equivalent
- B.Ed.(Special Education): Any Degree with a pass in Entrance Examination.
- B.Ed: 10 + 2 + D.T.Ed. + Degree
- Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) in Drama and Theatre Studies ( 4 yrs Program): Stream 1: 10+2 or equivalent Stream 2: Minimum age of 21 BPP of TNOU or any other Open University
- For other courses: 10th + 12th (HSC) Equivalent or PUC or TNOU BPP or 10th + 3 Years Diploma or 11th +2 Years TTC or 10th + 2 Years ITI
Postgraduate Courses
- M.A./ M.B.A/ M.Sc.: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university
- M.C.A: Any Bachelor’s Degree with a duration of a minimum of 3 (three) years from a recognized university with Mathematics as one of the subjects at +2 level or UG level. Students not studied maths at +2 / UG Level, need to register and pass BCM -01 subject concurrently with MCA.
- M.Com: Graduate in Commerce/ Business Administration / Corporate Secretaryship / ACA/ AICWA / and ACS / who have studied at least 02 papers in Commerce in their degree program
- M.Sc. Counselling & Psychotherapy: A. Bachelor’s / Master Degree in Psychology (or) B. Other Graduate Applicants who have not studied Psychology should undergo a Bridge Course in Psychology
- M.A Comparative Literature: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university
- M.L.I.Sc: Bachelor of Library Science/Bachelor of Library and Information Science from any recognized University
TNOU Admission 2023 Application Process
The Application forms together with the prospectus are issued separately for the two admission cycles. The Applicants shall use the application for admission prescribed for the respective admission cycle only. Before submitting the Application form, applicants are asked to read carefully and thoroughly the application form, the OMR application form, and the instructions for filling up the application form. Before filling up the application form, check up on your eligibility regarding age, educational qualification, experience, etc. Copies of the certificates, the photo of the applicant, and the signature of the applicant should be attested by one of the following officers:
- Group A and Group B officers of Tamil Nadu Government/ Government of India.
- Member of Syndicate, Academic Council, and boards of studies of the Tamil Nadu Open University.
- Teaching staff /Non Teaching staff (assistant registrar and above) of the Tamil Nadu Open University.
- Principles of Colleges /Headmasters /Government recognized Higher Secondary or High School.
- Coordinators of the respective Study center.
