The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi conducts the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET). Thus, like every year JTET 2023 will be conducted very soon. Moreover, the purpose behind the JTET is to analyze the skills, knowledge, and fitness of the candidate to be a teacher. Further, the exam is divided into two parts, namely, Paper 1 and Paper 2. So, paper 1 is conducted for those applicants who are looking forward to teaching students of 1st to 5th standard. Whereas, paper 2 is for those who are interested in teaching Class 5th to 12th. Eligibility Criteria
Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) formulates certain eligibility criteria for the JTET 2023 aspirants. So, only those individuals who meet all the requirements can appear in the JTET 2023. Hence, the aspirants must check the eligibility criteria thoroughly beforehand.
Also, the eligibility criteria for Paper 1 are different from that of Paper 2. So, the individual must be eligible for their respective papers. And if anyone wants to appear in both papers, they have to meet the eligibility criteria separately for both. Hence, these criteria are given below for Paper1 and 2:
Paper-I: Eligibility (Primary Level)
- The applicant must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% or any other equivalent course.
- Also, he/she must possess a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Alternatively, those candidates can also apply who have completed 12th standard with 50% marks or any course equivalent to it. Apart from it, he/she must have a B.El.Ed degree.
- Similarly, those are also considered eligible candidates to appear in JTET paper 1 who have scored 50% in 12th standard along with a 2year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Lastly, those who have a BA/B.Sc. degree with a minimum of 50% marks along with a B.Ed. degree from a recognized university can also appear in JTET paper 1.
Paper-II: Eligibility (Upper Primary level)
- All the graduates who have scored 45% marks and completed or appearing in final 2-years D.El.Ed. program.
- Further, those who have gained 45% marks in graduation and completed/appearing the 2-year D.El.Ed program along with 50% marks in B.Ed (or appearing in the final year of B.Ed) are also eligible. Also, they must have scored 50% marks in the 12th standard. Besides, such candidates must also possess a four-year degree in B.El.Ed/ 4-years BA/B.Sc.Ed.
- Lastly, anyone with a BA Ed/B.Sc (Ed.)/B.Sc (Special Education) with 50% marks can also apply for JTET 2023.
JTET 2023 Application Procedure
If the candidates meet the eligibility conditions, they must proceed with the application procedure. So, the application form for JTET 2023 is available online. Hence, the applicant must create a username and password to fill in the application form. Since the JTET has two papers so the applicant must confirm which paper they are applying for or could apply for both as well.
So, the step-by-step JTET 2023 application procedure is given below:
- Visit the JAC official website.
- Tap on the Registration link and complete the registration process by providing a valid Email address or phone number.
- Further, log in feeding the email or phone number or registration no. which you have already set as a username and password.
- Then, proceed with filling the application form and pay the registration fee online.
- Hence, for fee payment, either net banking or credit/debit card can be used.
- Once the fee is submitted, take a printout of the receipt for future references.
Application Fee: The application fee for general category candidates for JTET 2023 is INR 500 for a single paper. So, those general category candidates who want to appear in both the papers must pay INR 1000. However, for appearing in one paper, the SC/ST category candidates must pay only INR 250. While the application fee for the reserved category for both papers is INR 500 only.
Exam Pattern
The Jharkhand Academic Council will determine the exam pattern for JTET 2023. As mentioned above, the JTET will be held for two papers. And only the MCQ-type questions will be asked. Further, a total of 150 questions are asked for which only 2 hours and 30 minutes will be allotted. Also, for each correct answer, one mark is rewarded. However, there will be no negative marking in the JTET 2023.

JTET 2023 Cut Off
Besides the eligibility criteria, the JAC, Ranchi has also stipulated the cut-off limit. So, the applicants must score more than the specified cut-off to become a teacher in private or government schools in Jharkhand. The cut-off limit for JTET 2023 is given below:
- For General category candidates, the JTET 2023 cut-off is 60% or above.
- However, the SC/ST candidates need to reach 50% or above only.
JTET 2023: Answer Key
Once the examination is conducted, the answer key will be released online on the official website. Thus, the candidates who have appeared in the examination can access the answer key easily. Also, one can have an approximation of marks he/she will score.
JTET 2023 Result
Later, the result of JTET 2023 will be released within a month or two after the exam. It will also be released on the official website. Hence, using the login credentials, the candidate can download the result. Lastly, if the candidate has scored more than the cut-off limit, he/she must take a printout of the result and take it to the document verification round.
