Eligibility Criteria
- Indian candidates can apply.
- MBBS Degree is required to apply for UPSC CMS.
- Appearing candidates in the above exam can also apply.
- The age of the candidates must be not more than 32 years (as of August 1, 2024).
- There will be upper age relaxation for candidates belonging to a certain category as given below.

UPSC CMS 2024 Application Form
The application form of CMS is released by UPSC. Candidates will have to fill the application form in two parts. Candidates will have to register themselves in Part 1 by entering their details while in part 2 of the application filling process candidates will have to select the mode of online payment, selection of exam center, and final submission of the application form.
Exam Pattern
- The exam consists of 2 stages – a written exam (CBE) and a personality test.
- The CBE will be conducted for 500 marks while the personality test will consist of 100 marks.
- The written exam will have 2 papers.
- Paper 1 will be General Medicine and Paediatrics.
- Paper 2 will be Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine.
- Each paper will have a time duration of 2 hours.
- Both the papers of the written exam will be conducted for 250 marks each.
- Both Paper 1 and 2 will be 250 Marks each.
- The duration of Paper 1 will be 4 hours (2 hours for each subject)
- For Paper 2, the duration will be 2 hours.

- The minimum academic qualification to apply for UPSC CMS 2024 is MBBS.
- The age of the candidates must not be more than 32 years.
- The mode of the written exam is Computer Based Exam.
- A normal graduate can’t apply for UPSC CMS. To apply for CMS candidates must be MBBS.
