SSC JE 2023 Recruitment: For the recruitment of Junior Engineers (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts), Staff Selection Commission conducts an open competitive Examination. Candidates are appointed as the post of Junior Engineer in various Government departments after qualifying for this exam. The SSC JE Exam comprises two papers i.e. Paper 1 & Paper 2. SSC JE 2023 Application Form
The application form will be released in the month of September. Interested and eligible candidates must submit their online application before the due date. Candidates can register themselves online for both the papers i.e. for Part-1 and Part-2. Aspirants can collect the application form in online mode only. Candidates can visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission. Fill all the required details as asked in the form carefully. Candidates also need to pay the application fee. Candidates are advised to take a final print of the filled application form.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
A candidate must be a citizen of India or anyone from the following-
- Subject to Nepal
- Subject to Bhutan
- Tibetan refugee came to India before 1st January 1962 to become a permanent resident.
- A person of Indian origin migrated from Burma, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, and Vietnam to become a permanent resident of India.
Educational Qualification
- Junior Engineer (Civil), CPWD – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
- Junior Engineer (Electrical), CPWD – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
- Junior Engineer (Civil), Department of Posts – B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
- Junior Engineer (Electrical), Department of Posts- B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Electrical engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
- Junior Engineer (Civil), MES – B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering OR 3 years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute and with 2 years of work experience in civil engineering works.
- Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical), MES – B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering OR 3 years Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute and with 2 years of work experience in electrical/mechanical engineering works.
- Junior Engineer (QS&C), MES – B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognized University/Institute OR Passed an Intermediate examination in Building and Quantity Surveying (Sub Divisional-II) from the Institute of Surveyors (India).
- Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical), Central Water Commission – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Age Criteria
- For the Central Water Commission and Central Public Works Department (CPWD): The age of the candidate should be up to 32 years.
- For the Department of Posts and Military Engineer Services (MES) (Quantity Surveying and Contracts): The age of the candidate should be up to 27 years.
- Other departments: The age of the candidate should be up to 30 years.

Application Fee
- The candidates of the general categories have to pay Rs.100 as the application fees.
- There is no payment fee for candidates of SC, PH, ST, and Ex-Servicemen category.
- The application fee can be paid via online mode.
- Candidates can pay online through BHIM UPI, SBI Challan/ Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card.
Exam Pattern
Tier 1
- This exam will be objective type & 200 marks.
- The exam duration will be 2 Hours.
- The exam duration will be 2 hours and 40 minutes for the candidates who are allowed the use of a scribe.
- There will be a negative marking of -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

- Part- B will be General Engineering (Electrical) or
- Part-C will be General Engineering (Mechanical)

SSC JE 2023 Admit Card
To appear for the exam, the Staff Selection Commission will provide the Admit Card for the candidates. The admit card will be different for every stage of the exam. For those candidates who will clear the Exam 1, the authority will provide the admit card for Exam-2. The candidates also have to carry the admit card to the exam venue.
SSC JE 2023 Result
The result will be different for every stage of the exam. The Staff Selection Commission will provide the result for the candidates appeared for the exam. For those candidates who will clear the Exam 1, the authority will provide the result for Exam-2. Use the Admit card to download the result for each exam. The result will be the basis of the selection of the candidates for the next stage of the exam & also for the final selection.
SSC JE 2023 Cut Off
- Cut off implies the least attained marks for clearing the examination.
- The exam conducting body will publish the cut off for both the papers one after the other.
- Applicants are required to score equal or more than cut off marks for clearing SSC JE 2023 examination.
