SBI Clerk 2023: State bank of India conducts a Clerk examination. After the release of official notification, all the interested and eligible candidates may apply for SBI Clerk exam 2023. The qualified applicants of SBI Clerk Prelims will be eligible to appear for the SBI Clerk Main examination. The examination will be held in 1st week of August 2023 (Tentative). SBI conducts an online examination for the post of clerk in 2 stages- preliminary & main.

Eligibility Criteria

For Junior Associates: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

• Candidates who are currently in the final Semester/ year of Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview/joining, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination on or before 30 June 2023.
• Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 30 June 2023.

Age: Applicants need to ensure that their age must not be less than 20 years and more than 28 years as on 01 April 2023.

SBI Clerk 2023 Application Form

The applicants have to apply for SBI Clerk only through online mode from the official website. The applicants have to apply after the release of official notice for SBI Clerk recruitment 2023. They have to upload scanned images of their photographs & signatures in the appropriate format. The applicants are advised to recheck their entered details before they submit their applications.

Application Fee

• Candidates can pay their Application Fees through online mode only.
• Application Fee can be paid using debit card/credit card/internet banking.
• The Fees once paid will not be refunded.

Exam Pattern

For the Candidates appearing in the SBI Clerk 2023 examination, the structure of the exam pattern is described below:

Examination Details:

• The candidates will have to sit for an online examination. With a system to solve the question papers.
• The duration of the online written test in the preliminary examination is 1 hour.
• While the duration for the online test in the main examination is 2 hours 40 minutes.
• Keeping in mind the time duration, the candidates will have to solve their papers accordingly.

Preliminary Examination

• SBI Clerk Exam Pattern for Preliminary exam consists of 100 objective questions that need to be solved within a 1-hour time duration.
• The exam carries a total of 100 marks.
• The questions will be asked from various sections, including English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability.
• Every section will have a separate time of 20 min each.
• The Candidates will have to qualify in each section.

Main Examination

• The time duration for SBI Clerk Main Examination is 2 hours 40 minutes.
• The exam pattern for SBI Clerk for the main examination will consist of 190 objective-type questions of 200 marks.
• The questions will be divided into various sections – General / Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude.

Negative Marking:

• The candidate should remember that there is a negative marking for the wrong answer.
• 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Objective type questions:

• There will be objective type questions in the SBI Clerk Exam.
• There will be objective type questions in each section and the candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests..

Important Note:

• Scores obtained by the candidates in the Preliminary exam will not be considered for the preparation of the final merit list.
• Only the scores obtained in the Main Exam will be considered for the same.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure will completely be carried out on the basis of the merit list. It includes various stages- online examination with preliminary exam & Main exam and then by the test of official and/or local language & subject to govt. of India approval Interview. 

Cut off

SBI will decide the cut off marks for the preliminary exam to shortlist the applicants for the Main exam & interview. The cutoff marks depend on various factors such as difficulty level of exam, no. of applicants, etc. The cut-off marks for SBI Clerk preliminary exam 2023 will vary from 47 to 50.

SBI Clerk 2023 Important Points

• Each test will have separate timing as mentioned above.
• The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English &Hindi.
• The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
• There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests.
• 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests.
• The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level.
• Candidates are also required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
• The minimum percentage of marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.
