About HSRC

High-Speed Rail Corporation of India Limited was launched by Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, the then Honorable Minister of Railways on 29th October 2013 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi in the august presence of Shri Arunendra Kumar, Chairman, Railway Board, Shri Satish Agnihotri, Chairman, HSRC and distinguished guests. For development and implementation of high-speed rail projects, High-Speed Rail Corporation of India (HSRC) has been formed on the directions of Ministry of Railways, Government of India. This Special Purpose Vehicle has been incorporated in 2012 as a subsidiary of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited is a Mini-Ratna public sector enterprise of Government of India. Accordingly, High-Speed Rail Corporation of India Limited has been incorporated as a subsidiary of RVNL on 25-07-2012. In order to ensure compliance of the Budget announcement, Ministry of Railways with the approval of the President directed Rail Vikas Nigam Limited in June 2012 to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle for development and implementation of High Speed Rail Projects in terms of Article 69(2) (g) of Memorandum and Articles of Association of RVNL.
