AFCAT 2024: The Indian Air Force recruits eligible candidates through the AFCAT exam to its all three branches i.e. Flying Branch, Technical Branch, and Non-Technical Branch. Interested candidates can go for AFCAT to be a part of the Indian Air Force. Candidates must prepare themselves with respect to physical fitness, mental fitness, and academic qualification to apply for AFCAT 2024. Before making the application of AFCAT 2024, candidates must fulfill minimum eligibility requirements. For both the AFCAT exam, the concerned authority will publish the official notification on its official website probably in the month of December 2023 and June 2024 respectively.

Eligibility Criteria
Flying Branch
- Aspirants must have completed graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks and they should have Physics and Mathematics subject at 10+2 level.
- Those who have completed B.E./ B. Tech. can also apply.
- The age of the candidates should be between 20 to 24 years.
Ground Duty (Technical)
- One who has completed graduation in any stream with a minimum of 60% marks can apply but the candidate must have Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
- The age of the candidates should be between 20 to 26 years.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical)
- Candidates having a graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks and also having 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).
- The age of the candidates should be between 20 to 26 years.
AFCAT 2024 Application Form
Candidates can submit the AFCAT Application through online mode only at “https://afcat.cdac.in/AFCAT/”. Aspirants can go ahead for submitting the application form when are complying with the above-mentioned eligibility requirements. Applicants need to fill in personal as well as academic qualifications in the application form. Candidates can apply for any of the AFCAT exams as this exam is held twice a year but submit only one application at a time. After submission of the application form, take a printout of the confirmation page or submit the application form for future reference.

Selection Procedure
The selection will be done in the following stages:
- 1st Stage: Officer Intelligence Rating Test, Picture Perception & Discussion Test
- 2nd Stage: Psychological Test, Group Test for Checking Interactive Ability & Personal Conversation with Interviewing Officer
- 3rd Stage: Medical Test
AFCAT 2024 Exam Pattern
- The question paper will include General Awareness, Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude.
- All the questions will be multiple choices in nature having four choices where applicants have to choose the correct one.
- The duration of the entrance test will be 2.00 hours.
- The paper for AFCAT contains a total of 100 MCQ-type questions.
- The question paper will be of 300 marks where each question will carry 1 mark.
- The penalty of the 1/3rd mark will be imposed for attempting the wrong answer.

- IAF will publish the AFCAT Admit Card 2024 on the official website soon.
- The Admit Card will be available online at the main official website of the organization.
- Aspirants who are registered and wish to appear for AFCAT, they are required to download admit card via online through the official link.
Cut Off
- Cut-off Marks are the minimum marks that are required to qualify for the examination.
- Cut-Off Marks will be released soon after the declaration of the result.
- The Cut-Off marks will be based on the difficulty level of the paper and the number of students who appeared in the examination.

Result
- The result will be declared after one or two months of examination.
- The result is expected to be declared in March or April 2021 on the official website.
- Candidates will be able to check the result via roll number and name.
- Only those candidates who will clear the written examination will be shortlisted for the SSB round.
Syllabus
- English: Unseen passage, synonym, antonym, correction of sentences, finding the grammatical error, the meaning of words, the collective term for a phrase, etc.
- Current Affairs: Recent events of national and international. The questions can be asked for anything recent like sports, awards, etc.
- General Awareness: Different subjects like history, geography, polity, science, etc. The questions are very basic in nature and the standard isn’t very high.
- Mathematics: Ratio and proportion, speed distance and time, percentage, profit and loss, and basic questions of algebra. The level of mathematics is 10th and the nature of the questions is moderate.
- Reasoning: Verbal and non-verbal reasoning. It contains questions on series, completing the pattern, etc.
AFCAT 2024: Important Points
- Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of the written exam.
- Candidates will have to face the Screening Test which is Stage-I Testing.
- Candidates who will qualify for SSB Stage-I will be shortlisted for the Stage-II test.
- The candidate who will qualify for SSB/Interview will go through a medical test.
- The merit list will be prepared on the basis of written tests and interview

You are eligible to give afcat but still, you won’t be selected in SSB because as you are in your final year you don’t have any official degree & SSB will give you 6 months to arrange an official degree by any means which is not possible. Let’s take an example: your final year would be completed in 2022 & In 2021 you go for AFCAT & their they will ask you to submit your degree at the end of June 2022 & suppose you have completed your graduation in the same year in June 2022 but still, you won’t have any degree & any university will provide a degree in atleast 6 months, so there is no chance even if you rank high in afcat so you better try in your last semester where you can easily arrange your degree.
