Preliminary Exam pattern

• The examination will be held through an objective-type mode.
• The examination will consist of a single paper on General Studies and Agricultural subjects.
• There will be a total of 120 questions of MCQ type and the total marks will be 300.
• For each incorrect answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted as a penalty for wrong answers.

Mains Exam pattern

• Based on the performance of the candidates in the preliminary exam, 13 times candidates to the No. of vacancies will be allowed to attempt mains examination and 2 times candidates to the No. of total vacancies will be called for the personal interview stage.
• The Mains examination will be of a conventional type.
• There will be two papers in the Mains examination.

Preliminary Examination Syllabus

 General Studies: History of India, Indian Polity, Economy & Culture, Indian and Uttar Pradesh Geography & Natural resources, General Science (High School Standard), Indian National Movements, Indian Agriculture, Commerce, etc.

Agriculture Subject: Environmental factors of crop distribution & production, climate element as the factor of crop growth, cropping patterns in different agro-climatic zones of UP, Packages & practices for the production of important cereals, pulses, oilseeds, fiber, sugar, cash crops, etc.

Mains Examination Syllabus

General Hindi: Unseen passage, antonyms, synonyms, idioms & phrases, verbs, sentence formation, translation from Hindi to English sentence and vice-versa, etc.

Essay: In this section, the candidates have to write an essay with a maximum word limit of 500. The topic for the essay may come from these fields- Agriculture & Trade, Natural Calamities and their preventions, Science & Environment, National & International issues and their solution, National Development plans & programs, etc.

Optional Subject

• There will be a total of eight No. Of question.
• The question paper will be divided into two sections- Section A & Section B.
• Section-A will have 4 questions and Section B will also have 4 questions.
• All the questions will carry the same marks and a total of 5 questions need to be answered by the candidates.
