AFCAT 2023: AFCAT is commonly known as Air Force Common Admission Test. Candidates who want to join the Indian air force as Commissioned Officer in Flying, Ground Duty (technical and Non – Technical) Permanent Commission (PC), and Short Service Commission (SSC). The entrance exam is conducted by Indian Air Force twice a year in the month of February and August. Interested Candidates can apply online at the official website. Eligibility criteria

  • Candidates must fulfill these conditions if they want to appear in the exam.
  • Nationality: Only Indian candidates are eligible to apply for the exam.
  • Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.

Age Limit

Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of 01 January i.e. born between 02 January 2000 to 01 January 2004 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2004 (both dates inclusive).

Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches. 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2004 (both dates inclusive)

Flying branch

  • Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and
  • Graduation with a minimum of three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. or
  • BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. or
  • Candidates must have secured 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).

Ground Duty for (Technical)

  • Candidates with a minimum of 60% mark each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University or
  • Cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in various disciplines.

Ground Duty for (Non – technical)

  • Applicable candidates must be secured 60% marks in Graduation level in any discipline and 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).

NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch)

  • NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate acquired on or after a decided date is mandatory.
  • Candidates should have passed with a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2.
  • Graduates with a minimum of three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. or
  • BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. or
  • Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

AFCAT 2023 Application Form

All the Candidates can apply for the AFCAT exam by visiting the official website of the Indian Air Force. Through the official recruitment websites of the Indian Air force, Online applications will be accepted. The application form will entail details such as as- personal details, qualification details, course preference, communication details. Candidates provided all the information related to the application form. The information provided by the candidates should not be correct then the examination authority will be canceled the application form immediately. Once the form is submitted successfully then Candidates won’t be provided an opportunity to make changes in their application. All the candidates pay a requisite amount of application fee.

Application Fee

  • Mandatory for applying candidates need to pay Rs. 250/ as examination fee for the AFCAT exam.
  • The application fee can be paid through the online mode with the help of a credit card, net banking, debit card, and E-Challan.

Exam Pattern

All the candidates who are preparing for the exam should be well conversant with the exam pattern and syllabus. The related information about exam patterns will guide to success in the examination.

AFCAT 2023: Counselling

Candidates have to appear for the AFCAT which is conducted twice a year in February and August. The candidate will receive a call letter regarding the AFSB Testing where they have to undergo various testing in any one of the Air Force Selection Boards located at Dehradun, Varanasi, Gandhinagar, and Mysuru. you will be sent for the medical examination either at Air Force Central Medical Establishment After the interview if you are selected by the Selection Board. All India Merit List is compiled on the basis of your performance in the written exam and AFSB Interview, subject to being medically fit.

Syllabus

  • Numerical: mixture and allegation, percentage, profit and loss, simple, Time and work, speed, distance and time, ratio and proportion, boats and stream, interest, compound interest, average, problem on ages, etc.
  • General Awareness: current affairs, arts, sports, Polity, history, geography, culture, environment, science, etc.
  • Military aptitude test and Reasoning: Verbal skills and spatial ability.
  • English: jumble words, sentence, synonym, idioms and phrases, Error correction, sentence completion, rearrangement, comprehension, fill in the correct word, 1word substitution, antonym, testing of vocabulary, etc.
