Eligibility criteria for XAT
XAT 2017 is going to be conducted for the admission of eligible candidates in various management post graduate courses. The appearing candidates must fulfil all the eligibility criteria. The Xavier institute has set the eligibility criteria for XAT and the candidates are advised to go through it to determine whether they are eligible to apply for or not.
Eligibility criteria for XAT
The candidate must have qualified graduation in any discipline from a state or central recognized institute. There is no bar of minimum percentile marks in graduation to apply for XAT, hence those candidates can also apply who have scored less than 50% in graduation.
The appearing candidates of final year can also apply for XAT 2017 (provided they have to submit the proof of their completion of graduation on or before 10th June 2017 to XLRI Jamshedpur).
Eligibility criteria for XLRI courses
For HRM & BM (Business Management)
- The candidates must have qualified a 3 years Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
- The appearing candidates of final years (who are completing by 10th June 2016) can also apply. The Indian candidates have to apply through XAT. In case of NRI and Foreign candidates they have to apply through GMAT (except Dubai & Kathmandu where in the applicant have the option of appearing for XAT 2016).
For General Management Courses
- The candidates must have qualified 3 years Bachelor degree from a recognized university in India or Abroad.
- The candidates with 5 years’ experience on managerial/supervisory level as on 31st March 2016 will get preference.
- All the candidates (except Indian, NRI and Foreign) can apply either through XAT 2017 or GMAT (held between 1st December 2014 and 20th December 2016).
For Global Business Management
- The candidates must have qualified a 3 years Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
- The appearing candidates of final years (who are completing by 10th June 2016) can also apply.
- The candidates with 3 years or more experience will get preference for Global Business Management.
- All the candidates (except Indian, NRI, and Foreign) can apply either through XAT 2016 or GMAT (held between 1st December 2014 and 20th December 2016).
Important notes
If a candidate fails to fulfil the eligibility requirements then he/she will not be able to apply or the candidature may also be cancelled. These candidates will not be allowed to take part in the selection procedure of XLRI as well.
The eligibility criteria vary from one B-school to another. Some of the B-school may only consider the XAT 2017 scores whereas others may have few more stages such as curricular, extra-curricular activities, candidates’ profile, work profile etc.
