DIAT Pune Admission 2023: Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) is the premium Technology University located at Khadakwasla dam, in the Sahyadri hills (Western Ghats). Air Armament Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering of a recognized Institute/University.
UAVs Aerospace/ Aeronautical or AeSI/ Mechanical/ Chemical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Electronics and Communication / Instrumentation from recognized university.
Marine Mechanical / Marine Engg of a recognized Institute / University

Specialization Eligibility Criteria
For Engg Branch Master of Engineering/Master of Technology (or equivalent) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA/DGPA. A relaxation of 5 % of marks may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / PWD – (Divyang) categories
Applied Physics/Chemistry Master in Science (M.Sc. or equivalent) 55% marks or equivalent CGPA/DGPA. A relaxation of 5 % of marks may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / PWD – (Divyang) categories

Application Fee

  • The Application fee will be Rs.500/- for General and OBC candidates per programme (specialization).
  • The fee for SC/ST, women, PWD candidates would be Rs. 250/-.
  • Candidates can pay the fee online or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of Vice-Chancellor, DIAT, Pune, payable at Pune.

Selection Process

For M.Tech.

  • Scholarship Category: Directly based on the performance at common all-India competitive test such as GATE etc.
  • Sponsorship Category: Based on their performance in a qualifying examination/ interview or both.
  • MOD (Services & DRDO) Sponsored Candidate: Through Research & Training (R&T) and Postgraduate Training (PGT) schemes for DRDO and Tri-service officers including Coast Guard respectively.
  • Sponsored Candidates from other Agencies/ Organizations: Through a separate selection committee appointed specifically for the purpose.

For PhD

  • Admission will be based on the performance in the entrance exam (written test) followed by a personal interview.
  • The written exam would be conducted by the department concerned
