CIFNET 2023: The Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (or CIFNET) is a marine studies center located at Kochi, India. Formerly the institute is known as the Central Institute of Fisheries Operatives (CIFO). It promotes studies and research on marine science and technology, marine environment, socio-economic, legal and other related fields. For taking admission under courses offered by the Central Institute of Fisheries, Nautical & Engineering Training, the institute releases the notification for Common Entrance Exam. CIFNET Entrance Exam is a national-level examination managed by the Department of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry of the Government of India. It offers a Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc) program and a Vessel Navigator Course(VNC)/ Marine Fitter Course (MFC).

Eligibility Criteria
For Bachelor of Fishery Science (Nautical Science) [B.F.Sc (N.S)]
- Candidate must be passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent examination in English and Maths and aggregate marks in other Science subjects.
- For SC/ST and the candidates, only passed class required.
- The appearing candidates for 10+2 exams are also eligible to apply.
- The age limit for the candidates should be 17 years to 20 years (October 01 of respective year)
- The selection will be based on a Common Entrance Test, Academic Merit, Interview.
For Vessel Navigator Course (VNC) & Marine Fitter Course (MFC)
- Candidate must be passed 10th class with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent examination with 40% marks in Maths and Science separately
- The age limit for the candidates will be 15 to 20 years (August 01 of respective years)
- The selection will be based on All India basis Common Entrance Test (CET).
CIFNET 2023 Application Form
For any of the two courses offered at CIFNET, the application procedure for candidates will be online. The application forms of CIFNET 2023 will be available on the official website, fill before the last date. Candidates willing to apply can register at the official website cifnet.nic.in. Candidates can visit the official website to get the application form. Download the application form and fill on the necessary details asked in the application form. Send this application form in an envelope to the address asked to send the application form.

Exam Pattern
- The Mode of Examination will be Offline (Pen-paper mode)
- The Medium of Question Paper will be English
- Only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) will be asked in the exam
- of sections will be 5 (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and English Language)
- +1 marks will be awarded for each correct answer
- 25 will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Counseling of CIFNET 2023
The organizing body conducts the counselling process as per the merit list. The qualified candidates will be informed with the notification related to the counseling. The institute also releases the list of candidates who will be eligible to attend the counselling process.
