Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is the premier central University situated in Aligarh. AMU conducts the entrance examination for several courses that include SSSC (Science), SSSC (Humanities/Commerce), PG Diploma, B.Ed, B.Tech, B.Arch, BA LLB, MBA, MBA IB, MCA, MSW, and Diploma in Engineering, BA, B.Sc, BUMS/Pre-Tib, LLM, C. E. T. (Professional Courses), Diploma in General Nursing, Master of Agribusiness Mgmt., B. A. (Hons.), BLI (Sc.), M.A. (Mass Comm.), M.L.I.Sc, M.Sc (Biotechnology), B. Sc. Eligibility Criteria

Maximum Age limit

• Diploma Courses – 21 years
• Graduate Courses – 24 years
• Postgraduate Courses – 27 years

For B.A.LL.B:

• Passed Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent examination with 50% marks in aggregate.
• The maximum age is 22 years as of 1st July of the year of admission.

For B.A. (Hons.):

• Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in English and in any three of the subjects from amongst Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Accountancy, Arabic, Banking, Business Organization, Business Studies, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, English, Mathematics, Fine Arts, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Islamic Studies, Persian, Philosophy, Physical Health Education, Physics, Sanskrit, Sociology, Urdu, Political Science/Civics, Psychology and modern Indian Languages from the recognized University.

For B.Sc (Hons.):

• Passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or its equivalent examination with minimum 55% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics, English.

For M.Sc (Biotechnology):

• Candidates are eligible to apply for this course if completed a bachelor’s degree in 10+2+3 education pattern with Biological Sciences, Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, and Physical Sciences or with Chemistry.
• The candidate is eligible to apply if possessing B.Tech, MBBS or B.Pharma degree with at least 55% marks.
• Sc degree holders or those who have passed their M.Sc (1 year) with 55% marks are also eligible to apply.

For B.Tech and B.Arch:

• Passed senior secondary School Certificate of this University or an equivalent examination with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
• Candidates having a Diploma in Engineering with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks are also eligible to apply for both courses.

For MBA:

• Bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate marks is required.

For Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery:

• Senior Secondary School Certificate of this University or an equivalent examination passed with 40% aggregate marks in any one of the following subjects:

AMU Application fee

The applicants have to pay the application fee to complete the application form. The fee can be paid online (by debit/credit card/net banking) or offline (by bank challan from ICICI or Canara Bank or via DD drawn in favor of “Finance Officer” payable at Aligarh) mode.

Examination Pattern

• Number of Questions: The number of questions for each entrance exam is different.
• Mode of Exam: The exam mode will be offline (PBT).
• Exam Medium: The medium of the question paper will be English.

AMU Admit Card

Candidates can avail of the official website of AMU because the hall ticket will be made available via online mode only. Admit cards will be released one or two weeks before the entrance examination. The hall ticket includes the name of the candidate, father’s name, roll no, date & timings of the examination, category, examination center, etc. Candidates can download the admit card and paste the latest passport size photograph on it. Applicants are advised to bring the admit card on the date of the examination and keep it safe till the time of admission.

AMU Admission 2022

• On the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in the entrance exam, the final allotment of seats will be done.
• The performance of the candidate in GD/Interview (wherever applicable) will also be taken into consideration for the selection of admission.
• Candidates have to submit the original mark sheet of the qualifying examination, migration certificate and character certificate at the time of admission.

AMU 2022 Counselling

The distribution of seats and courses shall be offered through counselling. Admission to the particular course or branch will be followed by counselling.

AMU Admission 2022 Important Points

• The application form of AMU Admission 2022 for B.A. (Hons.) will be released on the 2nd week of April 2022.
• The exam will be conducted in offline mode.
• Students have to secure at least 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 12th standard to be eligible for the B.Tech course
• The application fee for AMU 2022 test courses is different for each course. You may refer to the application fee section for getting application fee details.
• The application form will be released online for some of the AMU courses while for some of the courses the application form will be released via offline mode.
• 25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.
• The age limit for the diploma in engineering age of the candidate should be less than 21 years as of 31st December 2022.
• Admission will be only through NEET.
• The language of the question paper will be English.
