Jadavpur University Admission 2023: It is a public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It was upgraded to a full-fledged university in 1955. It has two campuses,  at Salt Lake and the main campus at Jadavpur.  The University offers UG, PG, and research courses in a variety of disciplines. The admission to most of the courses is done around June-July. The application form for the majority of UG and PG courses is made available on the university website.

BE/B.Tech, B.Arch. and B. Pharm Admission

The University offers UG programs (B.E. Degree in 15 disciplines, B.Tech. Degree in 2 disciplines) in Engineering Technology, Architecture, and Pharmacy. The University also offers B.Pharm. and B.Arch. program. There is a single entrance test for the above-mentioned programs. Questions in the exam will be of multiple choice/ objective type. There will be two papers. The exam would be based on class XI, XII Syllabus. Paper, I will be of Mathematics while Paper II will be of Physics and Chemistry. In both, the papers, based on the number of questions and the marking scheme questions will be classified into 3 categories. Candidates will be selected for admission, based on their performance in this test. The list of selected candidates will be displayed on the website.

ME/M.Tech, M.Pharm, and M.Arch. Admission

The University offers PG programs (M.E. Degree, M.Tech., M.Pharm., M.Arch.) in Engineering Technology, Architecture, and Pharmacy.

Candidates must have qualified the GATE or GPAT examinations or the Admission Test conducted by the University for admission to the above-mentioned programs. The final selection will be based on the score obtained in these examinations.

BA, B.Sc., and B.P.Ed. Admission

Jadavpur University offers undergraduate programs in the field of Arts, Science, and Physical Educations as 5 undergraduate degree programs in the Science stream and 9 undergraduate degree programs in the arts stream, all for a duration of three years.

The Application process B.P.Ed. the program is partly online with the form to be submitted to the University but for the BA and B.Sc. programs is entirely online. The admissions to the BA and B.Sc. programs in the month of May and to the B.P.Ed. the program begins in January. The admission to B.Sc. program is based on the score obtained in the Qualifying Examination. The University conducts different entrance tests in case of B.P.Ed. and some of the BA programs.

M.Phil. and Ph.D. Admission

The University offers Ph.D. Program in 19 disciplines and M.Phil. The degree program in 15 different disciplines. The admission process for Ph.D. begins in the month of April and M.Phil. programs begin in the month of May every year.

For application to the Ph.D. program, the general eligibility requirement is Masters’s or M.Phil. Degree in the relevant discipline, while for M.Phil. the program, the general eligibility requirement is a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Including the payment of the Application fees, the application process is to be completed online. For the selection of candidates for both the courses, the University conducts an Entrance test. Candidates are then shortlisted for a Personal Interview, based on performance on Entrance Test.

MA, M.Sc. And M.P.Ed Admission

Jadavpur University offers PG programs (7 UG degree programs in the Science stream and 16 PG degree programs in the arts stream) in the field of Physical Educations, Arts, Science. All the programs are for a duration of three years. The admission to these programs is entirely online.

B.L.I.Sc and M.L.I.Sc Admission

Jadavpur University offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs of Library Sciences. The application process for both programs is entirely online and usually begins in the month of April. The eligibility criteria involve a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with additional criteria depending on the candidate’s qualifications.

MCA Admission

The application process for the program is online and begins in the month of May. Jadavpur University offers an MCA program through its Department of Computer -Science, and Engineering. The admission to the program is based on the WB JECA Entrance Exam. The exam consists of two papers. The exam is conducted in the Computer Based Test mode. The first two hours are for Paper 1 based on Mathematics and the third hour is for Paper 2 having Aptitude-based questions. Candidates will be selected for admission, based on the performance in this test. The list of selected candidates will be displayed on the website.

For 2-yr P.G. Diploma Course in Counseling and Stress Management

• Eligibility Criteria: Completed Three- year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/institution.
• The number of seats will be 30.
• The course will not commence if less than 20 students are selected and take admission.
• Selection Criteria: Written test and interview
• Course Fee: Rs.30,000/- (Thirty Thousand ) (one time consolidated at the time of admission).
